The Reality of Being Hypothyroid

I just read an article written by one of those hypo doctors that stated that once on the proper dose of thyroid medicine, weight will be lost and not be an issue for the patient. Yeah, right. I'm not losing weight on my current dose and if I take more, it will throw me into hyperthyroid which is not a desirable feeling. So where does that leave me? Frustrated, absolutely.

But I think my biggest problem is FATIGUE, not my weight. It plagues me everyday. I wake up tired and continue to drag through the day. It really drops in the afternoons on days that I work. So I really think that should be my concentration. The fatigue beats me down so I feel depressed and apathetic. I think of things I want to accomplish but know I don't have the energy to do it. Take going back to school to take refresher courses so I can get a better job. Augh. How in the world would I have the energy to go to class and do homework or study. And do I have the energy to get a better job. I work part-time now and can't imagine putting in more hours. Ha. It took me over a week to recover from flying to the east coast and back.

It has been suggested I go to the doctor (which is the VA for me) and see if I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. My experiences with doctors has not been good at all. Most just tell me its stress or its all in my head. So why would I go tell a doctor I'm tired all the time. I can just hear it now. You need to lose weight (they always start with that one), get more sleep, eat better, and manage your stress better. So why go to a doctor? I'm doing all of the above.

So I see it will require me to do some research and figure it out myself. I have a big milestone birthday this year and it would be great if I could have the energy to celebrate.

Don't know why but its great

Do you know how annoying it is to have to pull your pants up every five minutes? I do now. After four days of doing the constant pulling, I tried to shrink my pants in the washing machine with hot water. That didn't do much good so I dug in deep into my closet and found a pair of pants in a smaller size. Aaahhh. Much better. But the panties are baggy too. So time to buy smaller ones. Yup. Much better there too. I have no idea why I suddenly lost weight shrunk. I stopped using my Wii for about 2 weeks because I am having problems with foot pain. Is the hypnosis working? I'm not about to step on the scale to bust my bubble. You know, the scale is evil. All I know is smaller is good!

Anyway, I bought some Acai capsules at WalMart just to see what it does. So I'll give it a month or so. It is supposed to give you energy. What hypothyroid person wouldn't want energy??

Down 3 pounds

I have no cravings or hunger pains even though my partner is eating ice cream, popcorn, pretzels, peanuts and more every evening while watching TV. It doesn't bother me at all. It does make him more self-conscience and guilty about his snacking.

I am eating healthier now especially since I'm not dealing with cravings. I'm not looking at pasta, fried foods, or pizza. Instead I want grilled chicken with a big portion of mixed greens and vegetables.

It is really nice not thinking about food all the time. There are better things to think about or not think at all. When your not focused on food all the time, you can relax.

If you decide this is the path for you, beware the raised eyebrows when you tell people you are losing weight by hypnosis. There are too camps of people - the ones who think it is great and are eager to see how it goes for you so they can try it too and the ones who think you have lost all your marbles and it is time for you to stay in the padded room. But that tells you if they are open-minded or not. Now you can spend more time with the open-minded people and enjoy life more. Who needs the negativity?

And the Journey Continues...

After reading a couple of Brian L Weiss books on healing with hypnosis, I decided I wanted to see if hypnosis would help me lose weight. Maybe my brain needed to be reprogrammed. I read everything I could find and then found a hypnotherapist. I went to my first session today. He told me that he would put me in a heighten relaxed state and put suggestions into my subconscious (I guess it will stop fighting me and we will be on the same page to lose weight). When it was over, I felt very relaxed and energetic.

At my first meal post-hypnosis, I had a salad that I was enjoying but suddenly stopped eating. I didn't want anymore and was satisfied. Even 3-5 hours later, I was fine. No carvings or urges to snack.

I am to avoid white sugar, white flour, white rice, and most dairy products. I am to eat protein at breakfast and only eat three meals. I ordered Mastering Leptin by Bryon Richards as this is the book my hypnotherapist follows.

Deteriorating Health

I lost 8 pounds in September due to getting my thyroid treated. I was feeling much better for a while. Then the tremor that I have had in my right hand got worse and spread to my left side. My muscles are almost always tight and sore. Sometimes I can't move. So I have been researching this on the Internet. Most people would immediately think I have Parkinson's. I did until I dug further. I really feel my silver/mercury amalgams in my mouth are slowly poisoing me. I have all the symptoms of mercury toxicity. So now I plan to save up to have the toxic fillings removed.

Maintaining now but need to get back to Fat Flush

I haven't done my Fat Flush plan for many weeks now but have not gained any weight back. That's great. I still have my FF shake in the morning since that is when I have the hardest time not filling up on carbs. I'm searching for the motivation to get back on plan since I still have more weight to lose.

I've spent considerable time this last month getting a new web site up http://www.gotzippos.com and now will have to revamp my other site http://www.dolphinladygifts.com to beef it up some more. I'm considering doing a new blog on environmental issues especially related to marine life. But do I have the time?

Even with screwy days, I still continue to lose!

I ran out of cranberry juice! That is the worst thing to happen on this diet. And Fred Meyers is out of the Knudsens Just Cranberry. So the second best is Pomengranate. It turns out to taste great with blueberrys so my morning Super Smootie is awesome.

The first number is the starting number and the second is the current number.

Bust: 44 40 1/2
Waist: 43 37
Hips: 51 47
Thigh: 28 25 1/2
Calf: 16 3/4 16
Arm: 13 3/4 13
Weight: 202.5 190

Total weight loss is 12.5 pounds and 21 1/2 inches gone. What will my next reward be??
